The black silhouette makes it look especially sad, since she’s in the crying pose. And the gnome is looking away from her like she is totally not into the hug. The poses are kind of odd… Even if you were to black out the gnome’s ear to make it look like she were facing the human, her head would be in an… oddly compromising position.
If you wanted something cuter, you could try to put the gnome off to the side and find a pose of her holding her arms out like she’s about to hug, but hasn’t hugged yet. But I’m not sure… the silhouette-ization of it takes something away, and makes it seem shadowy and dark. But it’s worth a try.
You could try leaving out the second person and just do a Gnome facing forward with her arms spread out like she’s about to hug and put “Gnome hugz r teh best!” under. Maybe put a non-bleach smile on her face (but not the smiley face V.V ).
Sy is very socially-motivated. Social input and sharing is the fuel that keeps her interest in particular passtimes flowing. I don’t know how possible it is to have gnomes interacting with other people not look vaguely creepy.
Hollywood has ruined me for such things.
The gnome cheer with “Horray!” across the top would be cute though. Maybe.
